David Kato, Marches On! An Ode!

Image
Somewhere down there, we all will one day, reach down below, to pull up another, so that in light and, fame they stay, and who will ask how, For sleeves rolled up, drum roll or not, emulate all hands to the pump, slip on your work boots, shovel and pitchfork, for along the way may be barriers or bay, David Kato is restless, a voice crying out from the depths, nagging you to get real, turn that tap on, make change felt, peace, justice and freedom, work harder you already won.

Q And A Forum: Is It Possible To Live A Longer Fruitful Life With HIV?

Image
It is true, people living with HIV can live longer, healthy lives with current antiretroviral therapy (ART) if they chose to take their medications regularly.  By taking just one pill a day, HIV has become for many a chronic, manageable condition. However, even with these life saving medications, a pill a day can lead to pill fatigue and serve as a daily reminder of HIV. On the prevention front, our options have never been better. We currently have daily oral PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), condoms, and U=U (undetectable equals untransmittable).  But what do the experts say?  To many people in Africa, access is a problem. What more could make HIV prevention even more accessible and medication easier to take?  See what some providers and experts say to see what’s currently on the horizon for HIV treatment and prevention. Q And A Forum: You Too Can Get And Maintain Flat Abs

Image
Do you go through a hustle with that extra size tummy? You know you can work out and turn that tummy into a simple flat,  ripped or rugged one.  This is one way to do it. Do you have 30 minutes set aside every day? Do you have a corner or place where you can lie face up without knocking down anything? Try standing without slouching otherwise you invite a pouch Slouch and your stomach pooches. Straighten up, and your tummy looks trimmer without breaking a sweat! For better posture, align your ears over your shoulders, shoulders over hips, hips over knees, and knees over ankles. Keep your shoulders open like a shirt on a hanger, not one draped on a peg. Draw your navel to your spine. Not least, keep your weight even on the balls of your feet and your heels. You can do ab exercises until the cows come home. But if you've got extra belly fat, your strong abs won't show. To budge the belly fat, you have to look at what you eat and how active you are. Ea

Q And A Forum: A round Bubble Butt Is Possible And Needs Work Out

Image
Yes, you can achieve that round bubble butt.  That depends partly on your body type and genes.  But almost everyone can shape up to get into those leggings, swimsuit, bikini or that slim fitting jeans.  The shape of the buttocks is defined by muscles known as the glutes. That's the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus, as well as the fat that lies over them. Walking, running, and climbing all work the glutes.  Strength training that targets these muscles can help give you a tighter, more rounded look.  Adding a few butt-busting moves to your routine may be enough to see a change. Q And A Forum: What Exactly Is Sex or Gender Conversion (Therapy)?

Image
One of the most fielded counseling need we had last year ( Report, 2018) that featured 1,200 times in 5,400 counseling sessions is sex or gender conversion followed by how HIV is spread anally and third in place was suicide contemplation. Others: housing, nutrition, transport to clinics and forming or joining support groups. Such questions: "Can I sleep face up and let the sun pass over me as it sets in order for me to gain an opposite sex/gender?" "Can I become a different sex/gender simply by proclaiming it like we see people profess their faiths?"  We had different answers to the questions and definitely had to first re-assure them emotionally before we even embarked on any other logical step. But, we promised to bring you information from credible sources. Please read something on the subject from New York.  Source: Google & https://www.advocate.com/politics/2019/1/25/new-yorks-gov-cuomo-signs-trans-rights-bill-conversion-th

Q And A Forum: Why Is This Much Chicken Consumed?

Image
For those who follow trends, there is something called "Chickenization" or "Chickenization of the Beef Industry." But, as an HIV care worker I posit that there is a link between poultry, protein and income earning. I go further to argue that one can use as an angle to promote Protein sufficiency for persons on ARVs.  However, we bring an article from The Economist titled: " Why Westerners eat so much chicken." In it, health issues are pointed at to justify chicken popularity but is this all? "One reason relates to health. In the 1980s doctors warned that eating too much saturated fat, found in red meat, could increase the risk of heart disease. And now, though doctors worry less about saturated fat, new evidence suggests that eating red meat can lead to colon cancer. In contrast, chicken’s reputation as a clean meat has remained unscathed," according to the Economist. For more see on this please read . Source: Google

Q and A Forum: Four Points To Know About HIV Cure

Image
Effective quality HIV care is possible when resources and interventions are made available to address vulnerability and barriers to risk-reduction.  There is need to provide information, education and communication to inform best action against vulnerability and risk-reduction.  Consistent  treatment can control HIV and enable people to live a long and healthy life. This is reinforced by adherence to ARVs.  Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have the virus. Will there ever be a cure for HIV? Researchers and scientists believe that we can find a cure for HIV. We know a lot about HIV, as much as certain cancers. Scientists are researching two types of cure: a functional cure and a sterilizing cure (there is no 'natural cure' or 'herbal cure') for HIV. (There will never be an AIDS cure because AIDS is a defining set of symptoms rather than a virus, like HIV.) For more follow this link:

Q and A Forum: Two Points To Know About HIV

Image
Many of our clients still ask us to continue providing information, education and communication on HIV/AIDS. This time around, we bring you resources that are easily accessible, trusted and are reputable worldwide. What is HIV-1?     HIV-1 is the most common type of Human Immunodeficiency Virus. It attacks your body's immune system. The virus destroys CD4 cells. These cells help your body fight infections. HIV-1 can severely damage your immune system and lead to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). How is it treated?     HIV-1 treatment may reduce the amount of HIV-1 in your blood (called "viral load"). Treatment may also help to increase the number of CD4 cells in your blood. These cells help fight off other infections. For more please follow this link :
